  1. 1. Add red wine, Marsala, sugar, cinnamon stick, star anise and lemon juice to a large pot and warm the mixture.
  2. 2. Peel the pears, but leave the stem intact. Place them in the pot, cover it and let them cook for about 15 minutes on low heat until they are soft but still firm. Pour some of the liquid over the fruit from time to time.
  3. 3. Place the pears with some syrup on the plates, crumble the cheese into small pieces and place it next to the fruit.
