Ingredienti
- 125 ml latte tiepido
- 20 g lievito
- 30 g zucchero di canna integrale
- 250 g farina di farro tipo 1050

- 1 bacca di vaniglia

- 1 bacca di vaniglia
- 60 g zucchero di canna integrale
Preparazione
- 1. Warm up half of the milk until it is lukewarm.
- 2. Mix the lukewarm milk with the yeast, a pinch of cane sugar, and a spoonful of flour until smooth.
- 3. Cover the bowl and place it in a warm spot.
- 4. Let the dough rise for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 5. Knead the remaining milk, the rest of the cane sugar, the flour, a pinch of salt, the egg yolk, 50 grams of softened butter, and the ground almonds into the dough.
- 6. Knead the dough until it is smooth.
- 7. Cover the dough again.
- 8. Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
- 9. Shape the dough into a roll with a diameter of 4 to 5 centimeters.
- 10. Cut the roll into slices about 3 centimeters thick.
- 11. Place the slices close together in a baking dish.
- 12. Lightly grease the dish if necessary.
- 13. Cover the dish.
- 14. Let the dumplings rise for another 15 minutes.
- 15. Melt the remaining butter.
- 16. Brush the dumplings with the melted butter.
- 17. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees conventional heat.
- 18. Bake the dumplings for 30 minutes until golden brown.
- 19. Use the baking time to prepare the vanilla sauce.
- 20. Mix the cornstarch with about 50 milliliters of water until smooth.
- 21. Pour the remaining milk into a saucepan.
- 22. Stir the cornstarch-water mixture into the milk.
- 23. Bring the mixture to a brief boil while stirring constantly.
- 24. Reduce the heat.
- 25. Let the sauce simmer over low heat.
- 26. Stir continuously until the sauce becomes thick.
- 27. Halve the vanilla pod lengthwise.
- 28. Scrape out the seeds with a knife.
- 29. Stir the vanilla seeds into the vanilla sauce.
- 30. Remove the dumplings from the oven.
- 31. Turn the dumplings out of the dish.
- 32. Separate the individual dumplings.
- 33. Optionally dust the dumplings with powdered sugar.
- 34. Serve the dumplings with the warm vanilla sauce.
