  2. 2. Remove the seeds from the halves.
  3. 3. Use a melon baller to scoop out small balls from the flesh.
  4. 4. Leave about one centimeter of flesh at the edge so the shell stays stable.
  5. 5. Place the melon halves upside down on a plate.
  6. 6. Poke holes all around the shell with a wooden skewer.
  7. 7. Place the mozzarella in a colander and let it drain.
  8. 8. Wash the parsley and half of the basil.
  9. 9. Shake the herbs dry.
  10. 10. Pluck the leaves off the stems.
  11. 11. Finely chop the leaves.
  12. 12. Place the chopped herbs on a plate.
  13. 13. Roll the mozzarella in the herb mixture.
  14. 14. Peel the Gouda cheese.
  15. 15. Cut the Gouda into small cubes.
  16. 16. Wash the cherry tomatoes.
  17. 17. Dry the tomatoes.
  18. 18. Wash the remaining basil.
  19. 19. Shake the basil dry.
  20. 20. Pluck the leaves from the stem.
  21. 21. Thread one piece of mozzarella, one tomato, and one basil leaf onto a skewer.
  22. 22. Season the skewer with pepper.
  23. 23. Insert the skewer into one of the prepared holes in a melon half.
  24. 24. Thread the Gouda cubes, melon balls, and olives onto separate skewers.
  25. 25. Arrange these skewers in the second melon half.
  26. 26. Serve the melon hedgehogs and enjoy.
