  5. 5. Gradually beat in the eggs while continuing to stir.
  6. 6. Mix the flour with the baking powder and almonds.
  7. 7. Stir in the flour mixture and the milk alternately into the batter.
  8. 8. Ensure a smooth, spreadable batter is formed.
  9. 9. Pour the batter into the pan.
  10. 10. Smooth the batter.
  11. 11. Peel the apples.
  12. 12. Quarter the apples.
  13. 13. Remove the core.
  14. 14. Score the apple quarters several times on the curved side.
  15. 15. Drizzle the apples with lemon juice.
  16. 16. Place the apples on the batter.

  18. 18. Bake the cake for approx. 50 minutes until golden brown.
