🍳 Homemade Plum Butter

Ingrédients
- 1 kg ripe plums
- 1 kg jam sugar (ratio 1:1)
- 50 ml grape juice
- 1 lemon (juice)
Préparation
- 1. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- 2. Place the jars and lids into the boiling water.
- 3. Let the jars and lids sit in the water for 10 minutes to sterilize them.
- 4. Remove the jars and lids from the water.
- 5. Place them on a clean cloth and let them drain.
- 6. Rinse the plums under running water.
- 7. Remove the pits from the plums.
- 8. Take half of the plums and puree them into a smooth pulp.
- 9. Cut the other half of the plums into small pieces.
- 10. Add the lemon juice and the jam sugar to the plums.
- 11. Mix all ingredients thoroughly together.
- 12. Let the mixture sit for at least 1 hour.
- 13. Place the entire plum mixture into a pot.
- 14. Heat the mixture over low heat while stirring constantly.
- 15. Bring the mixture to a boil slowly.
- 16. Add the grape juice to the boiling mixture.
- 17. Let the mixture boil vigorously for about 4 minutes.
- 18. Perform a gel test to check if the butter is firm enough.
- 19. Fill the plum butter into the prepared jars up to the rim.
- 20. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
- 21. Place a damp kitchen towel on the work surface.
- 22. Place the sealed jars upside down for about 15 minutes.
- 23. Turn the jars back over after 15 minutes.
- 24. Let the jars cool down completely.
