  1. 1. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  2. 2. Place the jars and lids into the boiling water.
  3. 3. Let the jars and lids sit in the water for 10 minutes to sterilize them.
  4. 4. Remove the jars and lids from the water.
  5. 5. Place them on a clean cloth and let them drain.
  6. 6. Rinse the plums under running water.
  7. 7. Remove the pits from the plums.
  8. 8. Take half of the plums and puree them into a smooth pulp.
  9. 9. Cut the other half of the plums into small pieces.
  10. 10. Add the lemon juice and the jam sugar to the plums.
  11. 11. Mix all ingredients thoroughly together.
  12. 12. Let the mixture sit for at least 1 hour.
  13. 13. Place the entire plum mixture into a pot.
  14. 14. Heat the mixture over low heat while stirring constantly.
  15. 15. Bring the mixture to a boil slowly.
  16. 16. Add the grape juice to the boiling mixture.
  17. 17. Let the mixture boil vigorously for about 4 minutes.
  18. 18. Perform a gel test to check if the butter is firm enough.
  19. 19. Fill the plum butter into the prepared jars up to the rim.
  20. 20. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
  21. 21. Place a damp kitchen towel on the work surface.
  22. 22. Place the sealed jars upside down for about 15 minutes.
  23. 23. Turn the jars back over after 15 minutes.
  24. 24. Let the jars cool down completely.
