  1. 1. Melt the chocolate together with the butter in a bowl set over a pot of hot water (bain-marie). Make sure the mixture only gets warm and does not become too hot.
  2. 2. Whisk sugar, salt, and eggs in a separate bowl with a mixer until the mixture is creamy. Then stir in the melted chocolate-butter mixture well. Finally, mix flour and coarsely chopped walnuts into the batter.
  3. 3. Pour the brownie batter into a lightly greased baking pan lined with baking paper. Set the pan aside.
  4. 4. For the cookie dough, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy. Add the egg and mix well. In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder (leavening agent) and add this dry mixture to the butter mixture. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. 5. Flatten the cookie dough portions slightly and place them in portions on top of the brownie mixture in the pan.
  6. 6. Bake the treat at 180 degrees Celsius top and bottom heat for 40 minutes in the oven. Let the cake cool down completely after baking, cut it into small squares, and enjoy.
