Ingredientes
- 1 kg pumpkin (without skin and seeds)
- 0.5 l water
- 120 ml vinegar (10 %)
- 250 g sugar
- 3 cloves
- 1 piece cinnamon bark
- 1 tsp lemon peel (in zest)
- 1 cm ginger (diced)
Preparación
- 1. Cut the pumpkin into cubes of equal size.
- 2. Place the spices in a tea infuser.
- 3. Bring water, vinegar, and sugar to a boil in a pot.
- 4. Add the tea infuser with the spices to the boiling liquid.
- 5. Add the pumpkin cubes.
- 6. Let the compote simmer on low heat.
- 7. Check regularly if the pumpkin is cooked, as cooking times vary by variety.
- 8. Remove the compote from the heat when the pumpkin is translucent and soft.
