  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Peel the onions and garlic.
  3. 3. Cut the onions and garlic into coarse cubes.
  4. 4. Remove the seeds from the Piri-Piri chilies.
  5. 5. Finely chop the deseeded chilies.
  6. 6. Place the onions, garlic, and chili into a bowl.
  7. 7. Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
  8. 8. Mix everything well together.
  9. 9. Wash the chicken pieces.
  10. 10. Pat the chicken dry with a kitchen towel.
  11. 11. Cut the chicken into 8 pieces using poultry shears.
  12. 12. Rub the chicken pieces with the chili mixture.
  13. 13. Place the chicken in a large casserole dish.
  14. 14. Make sure the skin side is facing upwards.
