🍽️ Crispy Potato Pancakes with Homemade Apple Sauce

Ingredientes
- 1.5 kg potatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp flour
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- oil (for frying)
- 1 kg apples
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch clove powder
- 1 tsp lemon zest
Preparación
- 1. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 2. Quarter the apples and remove the core.
- 3. Cut the apple pieces into small chunks.
- 4. Place the apple pieces, 3 tablespoons of water, sugar, lemon zest, and the spices into a pot.
- 5. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes.
- 6. Continue cooking until the apples are soft and falling apart.
- 7. Finally, season the apple sauce to taste.
- 8. Set the apple sauce aside.
- 9. Peel the potatoes and wash them.
- 10. Grate the potatoes finely.
- 11. Peel the onion.
- 12. Grate the onion finely as well.
- 13. Mix the grated onions with the eggs.
- 14. Stir the flour into the potato-onion-egg mixture.
- 15. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and some pepper.
- 16. Mix everything well with the grated potatoes.
- 17. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan.
- 18. Take about 2 tablespoons of the potato mixture for one pancake.
- 19. Place the mixture into the hot pan.
- 20. Press the pancake down slightly to flatten it.
- 21. Fry the pancake until the edges turn brown.
- 22. Flip the pancake to the other side.
- 23. Finish frying the pancake on the second side.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 70 degrees Celsius.
- 25. Keep the finished pancakes warm in the oven.
- 26. Serve the pancakes with the apple sauce or jam.
