  2. 2. Melt the butter in a pot. Stir in the flour and let it cook briefly. Add the milk and cream and boil the sauce, stirring, until thick. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower. Sprinkle everything with grated cheese and bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Optional: You can also mix fried bacon cubes into the sauce.
