Ingredients
- 500 g mixed minced meat
- 1 piece bread roll
- 1 piece onion
- 1 piece egg
- 2 tsp mustard
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Instructions
- 1. Soak the bread roll in a small bowl of lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. The absorbed water ensures incredibly juicy meatballs that do not dry out later. Squeeze the roll firmly afterwards until hardly any water comes out.
- 2. Peel the onion and chop it into very fine cubes. The finer, the better the aroma is distributed in the mixture. If you like, you can also briefly sauté the onion cubes in a pan until translucent – this makes them milder and even more aromatic.
- 3. Put the minced beef together with the squeezed roll, the onion cubes, the egg, mustard and the chopped parsley in a large bowl. Season everything generously with salt, pepper and paprika powder.
- 4. Knead the mixture vigorously with your hands for at least 2-3 minutes. This connects the ingredients optimally and the meatballs do not fall apart later. Do not knead for too long, otherwise they can become tough!
- 5. Moisten your hands slightly with water – a small trick so that the mixture does not stick. Form about 8 equal-sized, round meatballs from the dough. Press them slightly flat so that they cook more evenly.
- 6. Place the meatballs with some space between them in the basket of your air fryer. Optionally spray them with a very small amount of oil for an extra crispy crust.
- 7. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and put the meatballs in for 10 minutes. Turn them after half the time so that they become perfectly golden brown and crispy on both sides. The exact time may vary slightly depending on the device model and the thickness of the meatballs.
