Instructions

  1. 1. Check the back of the ribs for a thin, silvery membrane (silver skin).
  2. 2. Lift the membrane carefully with a knife and pull it off completely using a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Cut the ribs into smaller portions of about two to three ribs per piece.
  4. 4. Rub the meat pieces with olive oil so that the spice mixture adheres better later.
  5. 5. Mix paprika powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
  6. 6. Rub the spice mixture generously onto both sides of the ribs.
  7. 7. Preheat the air fryer to 150 °C.
  8. 8. Place the ribs individually in the fryer basket without stacking them.
  9. 9. Cook the ribs for 25 minutes at 150 °C.
  10. 10. Turn the ribs after half the cooking time.
  11. 11. Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce after 30 minutes of total cooking time.
  12. 12. Increase the temperature of the air fryer to 200 °C.
  13. 13. Cook the ribs for another 5 minutes at 200 °C to caramelize the sauce.
  14. 14. Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  15. 15. Serve the ribs with extra BBQ sauce, ideally together with Cole Slaw or potato wedges.
