  1. 1. Cut the low-fat mozzarella cheese into sticks about 1 centimeter thick.
  2. 2. Place the cheese sticks in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm them up so they do not melt during cooking.
  3. 3. Whisk an egg in a shallow bowl.
  4. 4. Put the flour into a second bowl.
  5. 5. Mix breadcrumbs, panko, garlic powder, paprika powder, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
  6. 6. Roll the frozen cheese sticks first in the flour.
  7. 7. Dip the floured sticks into the whisked egg.
  8. 8. Then roll the cheese sticks in the breadcrumb mixture.
  9. 9. Press the coating slightly to ensure it sticks well to the cheese.
  10. 10. Optionally dip the sticks again in egg and breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
  11. 11. Place the breaded sticks back in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  12. 12. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
  13. 13. Place the frozen mozzarella sticks into the air fryer basket.
  14. 14. Lightly spray the sticks with cooking oil spray.
  15. 15. Cook the sticks for 6 to 8 minutes at 200 °C.
  16. 16. Turn the sticks once halfway through the cooking time.
  17. 17. Remove the sticks when they are golden brown and crispy.
  18. 18. Serve the mozzarella sticks immediately with a light tomato or yogurt sauce for dipping.
