  1. 1. Rinse the asparagus thoroughly under running water.
  2. 2. Cut off the woody, lower ends of the stalks.
  3. 3. If you are using white asparagus, peel it completely down to the tip.
  4. 4. Put olive oil, garlic powder, paprika powder, salt, and pepper into a small bowl.
  5. 5. Stir the spices and oil well until a homogeneous mixture is formed.
  6. 6. Put the prepared asparagus into a large bowl.
  7. 7. Pour the oil-spice mixture over the asparagus.
  8. 8. Toss the asparagus until every stalk is evenly coated with the seasoning.
  9. 9. Optional: Roll the asparagus in breadcrumbs or panko for extra crispiness.
  10. 10. Place the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  11. 11. If the basket is full, cook the asparagus in two separate batches.
  12. 12. Preheat the air fryer to 190 °C.
  13. 13. Cook the asparagus for 10 to 12 minutes at 190 °C.
  14. 14. Shake the basket once or twice during cooking time to ensure everything becomes evenly crispy.
  15. 15. Remove the asparagus and serve immediately while it is still hot.
  16. 16. Drizzle the finished asparagus with fresh lemon juice.
  17. 17. Garnish with some grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
