🥤 Juicy Salmon with Crispy Skin from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 2 pieces salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 piece garlic clove
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 tsp chopped fresh dill
Instructions
- 1. Take the salmon fillets out of the fridge about 15 minutes before cooking so they reach room temperature.
- 2. Rinse them briefly under cold water and then pat them very thoroughly dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Mix the olive oil, the zest and juice of half a lemon, the chopped garlic, dill, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
- 4. Brush the salmon fillets generously with the marinade on all sides, but leave the skin side out for now.
- 5. Rub the skin side only with a little olive oil and salt to maximize crispiness.
- 6. Preheat your air fryer for 3 minutes at 200°C.
- 7. Line the bottom of the basket with a suitable piece of perforated paper or lightly spray the grid with oil to prevent sticking.
- 8. Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side up into the preheated basket of the air fryer.
- 9. Make sure there is some space between the fillets so that the hot air can circulate optimally and the fish cooks evenly.
- 10. Push the basket into the device.
- 11. Cook the salmon for 8 to 10 minutes at 200°C.
- 12. Turning the fish is not necessary nor recommended, as the delicate fillet could easily fall apart.
- 13. The exact cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillets.
- 14. After 8 minutes, you can check the doneness for the first time: the flesh should still be slightly glassy and tender pink inside.
- 15. If you gently pull at the thickest part with a fork, it should flake into juicy slices.
- 16. For completely cooked salmon, extend the time by 1-2 minutes.
- 17. Carefully remove the basket from the air fryer.
- 18. Lift the salmon fillets out with a spatula and let them rest on the plate for 1-2 minutes before serving.
- 19. During this time, the juice inside the fish distributes evenly.
- 20. Drizzle the salmon with some fresh lemon juice as desired and serve immediately.
