🍽️ Crispy Squid Rings from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 300 g squid rings
- 1 piece egg
- 50 g flour
- 70 g panko breadcrumbs
- 0.5 tsp paprika powder
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- lemon wedges
- aioli or remoulade as dip
Instructions
- 1. Let the squid rings thaw completely if they are frozen.
- 2. Pat the squid rings dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Mix flour with a pinch of salt and pepper on a plate.
- 4. Whisk an egg in a separate bowl.
- 5. Mix panko breadcrumbs with paprika powder and garlic powder on a third plate.
- 6. Coat each squid ring first in the seasoned flour.
- 7. Then dip the rings through the whisked egg.
- 8. Finally, roll the rings in the breadcrumb mixture.
- 9. Press the coating firmly onto the rings so it sticks well.
- 10. Place the breaded squid rings in the fryer basket.
- 11. Make sure the rings do not overlap.
- 12. Optionally spray the rings lightly with olive oil for extra crispiness.
- 13. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
- 14. Cook the squid rings for 8 minutes at 200 °C.
- 15. Turn the rings after half the cooking time (after 4 minutes).
- 16. Remove the squid rings from the air fryer.
- 17. Let the rings rest for 5 minutes.
- 18. Serve the squid rings with lemon wedges and a dip of your choice.
