  1. 1. Let the squid rings thaw completely if they are frozen.
  2. 2. Pat the squid rings dry with kitchen paper.
  3. 3. Mix flour with a pinch of salt and pepper on a plate.
  4. 4. Whisk an egg in a separate bowl.
  5. 5. Mix panko breadcrumbs with paprika powder and garlic powder on a third plate.
  6. 6. Coat each squid ring first in the seasoned flour.
  7. 7. Then dip the rings through the whisked egg.
  8. 8. Finally, roll the rings in the breadcrumb mixture.
  9. 9. Press the coating firmly onto the rings so it sticks well.
  10. 10. Place the breaded squid rings in the fryer basket.
  11. 11. Make sure the rings do not overlap.
  12. 12. Optionally spray the rings lightly with olive oil for extra crispiness.
  13. 13. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C.
  14. 14. Cook the squid rings for 8 minutes at 200 °C.
  15. 15. Turn the rings after half the cooking time (after 4 minutes).
  16. 16. Remove the squid rings from the air fryer.
  17. 17. Let the rings rest for 5 minutes.
  18. 18. Serve the squid rings with lemon wedges and a dip of your choice.
