  2. 2. Place the chickpeas into a large bowl.
  3. 3. Mash the chickpeas roughly with a fork.
  4. 4. Finely chop the onion.
  5. 5. Grate the carrot finely.
  6. 6. Add the onion and carrot to the chickpea mixture.
  7. 7. Add the oat flakes.
  8. 8. Sprinkle the cumin over the mixture.
  9. 9. Add the paprika powder.
  10. 10. Salt the mixture.
  11. 11. Pepper the mixture.
  12. 12. Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands or a spoon.
  13. 13. Check the consistency of the mixture.
  14. 14. If the mixture feels too wet, add a little more oat flakes.
  15. 15. Shape small, flat patties from the mixture.
  16. 16. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
  17. 17. Lightly brush the patties with olive oil.
  18. 18. Place the patties in the basket of the air fryer.
  19. 19. Cook the patties for 10 minutes at 180 °C.
  20. 20. Carefully turn the patties over.
  21. 21. Cook the patties for another 10 minutes at 180 °C.
  22. 22. Check if the patties are golden brown and crispy.
  23. 23. Remove the patties from the air fryer.
  24. 24. Serve the patties with a fresh salad.
