  8. 8. Place a layer of spätzle into an ovenproof dish that fits in the air fryer.
  9. 9. Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over the spätzle.
  10. 10. Repeat the layers of spätzle and cheese until everything is used up.
  11. 11. Distribute the caramelized onions evenly over the top layer.
  12. 12. Place the dish into the air fryer.
  13. 13. Cook the cheese spätzle at 180 °C for 10 to 15 minutes.
  14. 14. Remove the dish when the cheese is melted and golden brown.
