🍽️ Crispy Cheese Spätzle from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 200 g spätzle
- 150 g grated cheese
- 1 piece onion
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh chives or parsley
Instructions
- 1. Slice the onions into thin rings.
- 2. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
- 3. Fry the onion rings until golden brown and slightly caramelized.
- 4. Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
- 5. Cook the spätzle in salted water according to the package instructions.
- 6. Drain the spätzle and let them drip dry for a moment.
- 7. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 8. Place a layer of spätzle into an ovenproof dish that fits in the air fryer.
- 9. Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over the spätzle.
- 10. Repeat the layers of spätzle and cheese until everything is used up.
- 11. Distribute the caramelized onions evenly over the top layer.
- 12. Place the dish into the air fryer.
- 13. Cook the cheese spätzle at 180 °C for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 14. Remove the dish when the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- 15. Finely chop fresh chives or parsley.
- 16. Sprinkle the finished cheese spätzle with the fresh herbs.
- 17. Serve the cheese spätzle immediately while hot.
