🍽️ Crispy Red Lentile Balls from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 150 g red lentils
- 1 piece onion, finely chopped
- 1 piece garlic clove
- 50 g oat flakes
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. Place the red lentils in a pot and cover them with water.
- 2. Cook the lentils for about 10 minutes until they are soft.
- 3. Drain the water and let the lentils cool down briefly.
- 4. Transfer the cooled lentils into a large bowl.
- 5. Mash the lentils slightly with a fork.
- 6. Add the diced onion and chopped garlic to the lentil mixture.
- 7. Add the oat flakes and the breadcrumbs.
- 8. Season the mixture with paprika powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- 9. Add the olive oil and the lemon juice.
- 10. Mix everything well together with the chopped parsley.
- 11. Shape the mixture into small, round balls.
- 12. If the mixture is too sticky, add a little more breadcrumbs.
- 13. Place the finished balls in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- 14. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 15. Place the lentile balls in the basket of the air fryer.
- 16. Cook the balls for 15 minutes at 180 °C.
- 17. Turn the balls after 7.5 minutes so they brown evenly.
- 18. Remove the crispy balls from the air fryer.
- 19. Serve the lentile balls hot.
- 20. Optionally add a squeeze of lemon juice or a dip.
