🍳 Crispy Bagel Sandwich with Egg and Cheese from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 2 pcs Bagels
- 2 pcs Eggs
- 2 slices Cheddar cheese
- 2 slices Ham or turkey ham
- 1 tbsp Butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs or arugula for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Carefully slice the bagels horizontally into two halves.
- 2. Spread a thin layer of butter onto the freshly cut surfaces.
- 3. Place the bagel halves with the buttered side facing up into the air fryer basket.
- 4. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and toast the bagel halves for 3 to 4 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 5. Carefully remove the toasted bagel halves from the air fryer.
- 6. Crack a raw egg into the center of each bottom bagel half.
- 7. Season the eggs lightly with salt and black pepper.
- 8. Place a slice of cheese directly on top of each egg.
- 9. Optionally add a slice of ham or turkey on top of the cheese.
- 10. Place the topped bagel halves back into the air fryer.
- 11. Bake the sandwiches at 180 °C for 4 to 5 minutes until the egg is set and the cheese is melted.
- 12. Place the top bagel half on top of the filling as a lid.
- 13. Gently press the sandwich together to stabilize the shape.
- 14. Garnish with fresh herbs or arugula if desired.
- 15. Let the bagel cool down briefly before serving it warm.
