  1. 1. Mix breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, paprika powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  2. 2. Whisk one egg in a second bowl.
  3. 3. Place flour in a third bowl.
  4. 4. Pound the chicken breast fillets flat so they are evenly thick.
  5. 5. Coat the fillets first in the flour.
  6. 6. Dip the floured fillets next into the whisked egg.
  7. 7. Finally roll the fillets in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  8. 8. Place the breaded chicken breast fillets in the air fryer.
  9. 9. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and cook the fillets for 16–18 minutes.
  10. 10. Turn the fillets halfway through the cooking time so they become evenly crispy.
  11. 11. Halve the burger buns while the chicken is cooking.
  12. 12. Toast the bun halves briefly for about 2 minutes in the air fryer.
  13. 13. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the buns.
  14. 14. Place a lettuce leaf on the mayonnaise.
  15. 15. Place the crispy chicken fillet on the lettuce leaf.
  16. 16. Add a tomato slice.
  17. 17. Optionally add a slice of cheese.
  18. 18. Close the burger with the top bun half.
  19. 19. Press the burgers down slightly.
  20. 20. Let the burgers rest briefly.
