  2. 2. Take the puff pastry out of the packaging and roll it out flat.
  3. 3. Cut the dough lengthwise into 2 cm wide strips.
  4. 4. Divide each strip into three equal pieces.
  5. 5. Peel the apples completely.
  6. 6. Cut each apple into four thick slices.
  7. 7. Use a small glass or cutter to punch out the core from the center of each apple slice.
  8. 8. Wrap one puff pastry piece around each apple ring.
  9. 9. Whisk the milk and egg yolk together in a small bowl.
  10. 10. Brush the pastry rings with the milk and egg yolk mixture.
  11. 11. Sprinkle the rings with cinnamon, sugar, and sliced almonds.
  12. 12. Place the apple rings in the cooking basket of the air fryer.
  13. 13. Bake the rings for 15 minutes at 180 °C.
  14. 14. Sprinkle the finished rings with powdered sugar if desired.
