🍽️ Crispy Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients
- 800 g firm-cooking potatoes or sweet potato
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- 1/2 tsp rock salt or sea salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 200 g sour cream
- 1 organic lemon
- 1 pinch chili flakes
- 1 pinch rock salt or sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes or sweet potatoes.
- 2. Cut them into slices about 5 millimeters thick.
- 3. Cut the slices into sticks about 5 millimeters thick.
- 4. Place the sticks in cold water for about one hour.
- 5. Drain the potatoes in a colander.
- 6. Rinse them thoroughly under running water.
- 7. Dry the potatoes thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
- 8. Place the dry potatoes in a large bowl.
- 9. Mix cornstarch, paprika powder, and salt with the olive oil.
- 10. Add the oil mixture to the potatoes.
- 11. Mix everything well until all sticks are coated.
- 12. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 13. Place the fries in the air fryer.
- 14. Cook the fries at 180 °C for 20 minutes.
- 15. Shake the fryer basket occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 16. Preheat the oven to 200 °C with fan setting.
- 17. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- 18. Spread the fries out flat on the trays.
- 19. Bake the fries at 200 °C fan for about 35 minutes.
- 20. Turn the fries once after 17.5 minutes.
- 21. Let the fries bake until crispy.
- 22. Place sour cream or a vegan alternative in a bowl.
- 23. Grate the zest of one organic lemon.
- 24. Add the lemon zest to the dip.
- 25. Add a good pinch of chili flakes.
- 26. Season the dip with a little salt.
- 27. Mix all dip ingredients well.
- 28. Serve the hot fries with the dip.
