Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 3 tsp (cream of tartar) baking powder
- 2 packets vanilla sugar
- 250 g low-fat quark
- 2 pieces eggs
- 3 tbsp butter (melted)
- 4 tbsp sugar (I used brown sugar)
- 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Mix the flour, baking powder, and vanilla sugar in a large bowl.
- 2. Add the quark (curd cheese) and eggs, then knead everything into a smooth, soft dough.
- 3. Take a small portion of dough with a tablespoon and shape it into a ball (about the size of a golf ball) using slightly damp hands.
- 4. Lightly grease the rack of the air fryer and place the balls in the basket with some space between them.
- 5. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C and bake the balls for 12 minutes.
- 6. Carefully turn the balls after about 7 to 8 minutes so they turn golden brown evenly.
- 7. Remove the finished balls and keep them warm while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
- 8. Melt the butter slowly in a small saucepan.
- 9. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- 10. Dip the warm quark balls first into the melted butter.
- 11. Then roll the buttered balls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- 12. Enjoy the quark balls immediately while warm, as they taste best this way.
