  1. 1. Rinse the chicken under cold water and then pat it completely dry with kitchen paper.
  2. 2. Rub the entire chicken skin thinly with butter.
  3. 3. Season the chicken generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. 4. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
  5. 5. Place the chicken breast-side down into the basket of the air fryer.
  6. 6. Cook the chicken for 25 minutes at 180 °C.
  7. 7. Carefully turn the chicken so that the breast side is now facing up.
  8. 8. Continue cooking at 180 °C for another 25 minutes.
  9. 9. Remove the chicken from the air fryer after cooking.
  10. 10. Let the meat rest for about 10 minutes to allow the juices to distribute.
  11. 11. Cut the chicken into 6 to 8 portions before serving.
