1. Rinse the chives thoroughly, dry them, and chop into fine rings. Halve the onion, peel it, and dice it finely.
2. In a bowl, mix mustard, salt, pepper, water, vinegar, sour cream, and oil together with the chives and onions.
3. Toast the walnuts in a pan without fat over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Coarsely chop the walnuts and fold them into the dressing. The walnut dressing is perfect for salads or grilled dishes.
