🍽️ Vegetarian Falafel in the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 400 g Chickpeas
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic clove
- 1 Bund Parsley
- 1 TL Cayenne pepper
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
- 1 TL Baking powder
- 2 EL Flour
Instructions
- 1. Put the 400 g chickpeas in a sieve and rinse them thoroughly with cold water.
- 2. Let the chickpeas drain completely and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Peel the onion and cut it into coarse pieces for the blender.
- 4. Peel the 2 garlic cloves and place them whole in the bowl.
- 5. Wash 1 bunch of parsley and pluck the leaves from the stems.
- 6. Chop the parsley leaves coarsely and add them to the onion.
- 7. Put the drained chickpeas, onion, garlic and parsley into a large bowl.
- 8. Sprinkle 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper over the mixture.
- 9. Add 1 tsp baking powder and the 2 tbsp flour to the mixture.
- 10. Mash everything with a fork or in the blender to a coarse, sticky dough.
- 11. Form the dough into 8 equal-sized balls (approx. 3 cm diameter).
- 12. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C until the signal sounds.
- 13. Place the falafel in the basket and spray them lightly with oil.
- 14. Cook the falafel for 10 minutes at 180 °C, turning them once after 5 minutes, until they are golden brown.
- 15. Remove the falafel and let them rest for 2 minutes until they firm up.
- 16. Serve the falafel warm: they are perfect when golden brown and crispy.
