🍽️ Vegan Airfryer Lentil Balls

Ingredients
- 200 g cooked lentils
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 2 EL tomato paste
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 1 TL paprika powder
- 1 TL salt
- 1 TL pepper
- 2 EL olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Put the 200 g cooked lentils into a large bowl.
- 2. Roughly mash the lentils with a fork, but don't make a paste.
- 3. Peel the onion and chop it finely.
- 4. Peel the garlic clove and chop it finely too.
- 5. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a small frying pan over medium heat.
- 6. Fry the chopped onion for about 3 minutes, until it’s translucent and soft.
- 7. Add the chopped garlic and fry it for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- 8. Stir in the tomato paste and fry for 1 minute, until it darkens.
- 9. Remove the frying pan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.
- 10. Mix the cooled onion mixture with the mashed lentils.
- 11. Stir in the 50 g breadcrumbs, paprika, salt and pepper.
- 12. Form 8 equal-sized balls from the mixture with your hands.
- 13. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 14. Place the balls in the basket and drizzle them with the remaining oil.
- 15. Fry the balls for 15 minutes, turning them halfway after 7 minutes, until golden brown.
- 16. Serve the golden brown balls warm; they should be crispy on the outside.
