  2. 2. Grease a shallow baking dish (approx. 8x8 inches) with the butter.
  3. 3. Whisk the eggs and sugar in a large bowl with a whisk until the mixture is pale and creamy.
  4. 4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract into the egg mixture.
  5. 5. Sift the flour over the mixture and whisk until smooth, ensuring no lumps remain.
  6. 6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish and evenly distribute the chocolate chips on top.
  7. 7. Pour the remaining batter over the top.
  8. 8. Bake the clafoutis for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and mostly set in the center.
  9. 9. Let the dessert cool for 10 minutes before serving.
