🍞 Torrijas with Honey and Cinnamon

Ingredients
- 4 Scheiben Stale white bread
- 250 ml Whole milk
- 1 Stk Cinnamon stick
- 1 Stk Lemon zest
- 2 Stk Eggs
- 100 ml Sunflower oil
- 30 ml Honey
- 20 g Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Heat the milk with the cinnamon stick and lemon zest in a pot until steaming. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes. Remove cinnamon and zest.
- 2. Dip the bread slices briefly into the warm milk until soft but not falling apart. Remove them and let them drain slightly.
- 3. Whisk the eggs in a shallow bowl.
- 4. Coat the soaked bread slices in the eggs, ensuring they are fully covered.
- 5. Fry the slices in a pan with hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Remove them and place on kitchen paper.
- 6. Mix the sugar with a pinch of cinnamon (optional). Moisten the warm Torrijas with honey and sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
