  2. 2. Heat the olive oil in a large pot and sauté the onions over medium heat until translucent for 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the garlic and chili flakes and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4. Wash the tomatoes, remove the core, and chop them into coarse chunks. Add them to the pot.
  5. 5. Pour in the meat stock, season generously with salt and pepper.
  6. 6. Let the stew simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.
  7. 7. Roughly chop the basil with a knife and stir it in.
  8. 8. Fry the garlic slices in some oil in a pan until golden brown and add them as a topping to the soup.
