🌮 Carnitas tacos

Ingredients
- 600 g pork belly
- 2 Stück shallots
- 4 Stück garlic cloves
- 1 TL cumin
- 2 TL smoked paprika
- 2 EL lime juice
- 8 Stück tortillas
- 1 Bund fresh cilantro
- 1 Stück avocado
- 1 Stück onion
- 1 TL salt
- 0.5 TL pepper
Instructions
- 1. Cut the pork belly into large pieces and season with salt, pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika.
- 2. In a large pot, sauté the chopped shallots and minced garlic until golden brown.
- 3. Add the seasoned pork belly pieces and sear on all sides until browned.
- 4. Add some water and lime juice to the pot, cover, and simmer on low heat for 3-4 hours until the meat is tender.
- 5. Remove the meat, shred it, and place it on a baking sheet in the oven at 220°C for about 10-15 minutes to crisp up.
- 6. Warm the tortillas briefly, then add the carnitas, onion, cilantro, and avocado on top.
- 7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
