  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. 2. Wash the zucchini and slice them into 5 mm thick rounds.
  3. 3. Cut the sun-dried tomatoes into thin strips. Roughly crumble the feta cheese with a fork.
  4. 4. Place a layer of zucchini rounds in the baking dish. Distribute chopped thyme leaves, tomato strips, and some feta on top. Repeat the layers until the vegetables are used up.
  5. 5. Sprinkle sugar and the remaining melted butter over the top layer. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. 6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake the gratin for 25 minutes.
  7. 7. Remove the foil and bake the dish for another 15 minutes until the zucchini is tender and the surface is lightly browned.
  8. 8. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. 9. Serve the gratin as a main course or side dish.
