1. Pat the salmon fillet dry with a kitchen towel. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with lime juice.
2. Peel the onions and garlic and dice them finely. Sauté them in hot oil, transfer to a bowl, and stir in the chopped dill.
3. Place the salmon in a steamer insert. Bring water in a suitable pot to a boil, place the insert inside, cover the pot, and steam the fish for about 7 minutes.
4. Serve the steamed salmon on plates with the onion-dill sauce.
