  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Calculate the time until the oven is hot.
  2. 2. Wash the peppers and cut off the top. Remove the seeds and white membranes inside. Place the peppers in a baking dish.
  3. 3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion in it for 3 minutes until transparent.
  4. 4. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the fresh spinach and cook until it has wilted (approx. 2 minutes).
  5. 5. Remove the pan from the heat. Mix the crumbled feta, salt, pepper, and chopped basil into the spinach mixture.
  6. 6. Fill each pepper generously with the spinach-feta mixture. Press the filling slightly to close gaps.
  7. 7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake the stuffed peppers for 25 minutes in the oven.
  8. 8. Remove the aluminum foil. Bake the peppers for another 10 minutes without cover until the filling is slightly golden and the peppers are soft.
  9. 9. Remove the peppers from the oven. Let them rest for 5 minutes before serving on plates.
