🍝 Spanish Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 500 g Ground Beef
- 50 g White Bread (cubed)
- 50 ml Milk
- 1 Stück Egg
- 2 Stück Garlic Cloves
- 1 Stück Onion
- 2 EL Olive Oil
- 400 g Canned Tomatoes (peeled)
- 1 TL Salt
- 1/2 TL Black Pepper
- 1 TL Dried Oregano
Instructions
- 1. Soak the bread cubes in the milk. Squeeze out excess milk later.
- 2. Finely chop the garlic and onion.
- 3. In a bowl, mix the ground meat, squeezed bread, egg, chopped onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Knead the mixture well.
- 4. Form 16 equal-sized balls from the mixture (approx. 30 g per ball).
- 5. Heat the olive oil in a large pan. Brown the meatballs on all sides (approx. 5 minutes). Remove them from the pan.
- 6. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the same pan and sauté for 2 minutes.
- 7. Add the canned tomatoes and oregano. Crush the tomatoes slightly with a spoon.
- 8. Place the meatballs back into the sauce. Cover the pan and simmer everything for 15 minutes over medium heat.
- 9. Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Serve the dish warm.
