1. Grind the peanuts in a blender or with a hand blender until finely ground. Knead the ground peanuts with the butter, sugar, vanilla powder, egg, salt, flour, and starch to form a dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Roll out the dough in portions on a floured surface to a thickness of 4 to 5 millimeters. Cut out round shapes (about 5 centimeters in diameter) using a cookie cutter or a glass and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Press a pattern into the cookies if desired.
3. Bake the peanut cookies in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat (fan 160 degrees; gas mark 2 to 3) for 10 to 12 minutes.
