  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F) conventional heat. Grease a 9-inch (24 cm) springform pan and dust with cocoa.
  2. 2. Melt the butter in a pot over low heat. Remove the pot from the stove and let it cool slightly.
  3. 3. Whisk the butter with the brown sugar and eggs in a large bowl until the mixture is creamy.
  4. 4. Fold in the cocoa, ground almonds, and chestnut puree. Stir gently until everything is evenly mixed.
  5. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Roll the marzipan mass into a log and place it on top of the batter.
  6. 6. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan.
