🥓 Savory Pain Perdu with Bacon and Cheese

Ingredients
- 4 Stk bread slices (crusts removed)
- 100 g bacon (streaky)
- 50 g Gouda cheese (grated)
- 4 Stk eggs (size M)
- 50 ml whole milk
- 10 g mustard (hot)
- 2 g salt
- 1 g pepper
- 20 g butter (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Fry bacon until crisp in a pan and place on kitchen paper.
- 2. Whisk eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper in a shallow dish.
- 3. Sprinkle two bread slices with cheese and the others with bacon.
- 4. Place the topped slices on top of the plain slices.
- 5. Dip sandwiches briefly in egg mixture until fully soaked.
- 6. Fry sandwiches in butter on both sides until golden brown.
- 7. Cut sandwiches diagonally in half and serve warm.
