Instructions

  1. 1. Pat the 200 g salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Never wash it, or it will become mushy.
  2. 2. Season the salmon generously with salt and pepper. Sprinkle evenly on both sides.
  3. 3. Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into a small bowl. Place the salmon in it and turn it until it’s coated.
  4. 4. Pour 1 tablespoon of lemon juice over the salmon. Rub the acid in gently.
  5. 5. Finely chop the parsley. Make sure the leaves are small.
  6. 6. Place 1 tablespoon of capers in a small sieve. Drain off the brine.
  7. 7. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. This is the medium setting for fish.
  8. 8. Place the salmon on the air fryer rack. Ensure it doesn’t touch the sides.
  9. 9. Cook the salmon in the air fryer at 180 °C for 10 minutes, until it’s golden brown.
  10. 10. Carefully remove the salmon. Place it on a plate and loosely cover it with foil.
  11. 11. Place 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan. Melt it over medium heat.
  12. 12. Add the drained capers to the melting butter. Stir briefly until fragrant.
  13. 13. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir the chopped parsley into the hot butter-caper mixture.
  14. 14. Pour the warm sauce directly over the salmon. Distribute the capers evenly over the fillet.
  15. 15. Serve the salmon immediately. It’s perfect when the flesh looks flaky and juicy.
