Instructions

  1. 1. Finely chop the garlic clove. Tip: This prevents it from burning at high heat.
  2. 2. Pat the 200 g salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Never rinse it, or it will become mushy.
  3. 3. Cut the salmon into 2 equal fillets. This ensures they cook evenly.
  4. 4. Finely chop the parsley. Set aside 2 tablespoons for the sauce.
  5. 5. Melt the 50 g butter in a small saucepan. Stir until it is liquid.
  6. 6. Add the finely chopped garlic to the butter. Sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  7. 7. Remove the saucepan from the heat. This stops the garlic from cooking further.
  8. 8. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice into the butter. Use 2 tablespoons of juice.
  9. 9. Stir in the 2 tablespoons parsley, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper. Mix well.
  10. 10. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. Preheating is important for crispy edges.
  11. 11. Place the salmon fillets in the basket. Pour half of the butter-lemon mixture over them.
  12. 12. Cook the salmon for 8 minutes at 180 °C, until golden brown.
  13. 13. Remove the basket. Pour the remaining butter-lemon mixture over the salmon.
  14. 14. Cook the salmon for another 2 minutes at 180 °C. This allows the flavour to absorb.
  15. 15. Let the salmon rest in the basket for 2 minutes. This redistributes the juices evenly.
  16. 16. Serve the salmon immediately. It’s perfect when it flakes easily with a fork.
