🧅 Rustic Onion and Mustard Tart with Thyme

Ingredients
- 320 g Puff pastry (refrigerated)
- 600 g Onions (yellow)
- 40 g Butter
- 1 EL Honey
- 1 EL Balsamic vinegar
- 1 EL Mustard (medium-hot)
- 1 TL Lemon juice
- 1 EL Fresh thyme
- 1/2 TL Salt
- 1/4 TL Black pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (conventional heat).
- 2. Peel the onions and slice them into thin strips.
- 3. Melt butter in a large pan and caramelize the onions over medium heat for 20 minutes.
- 4. Add honey, balsamic vinegar, mustard, and lemon juice to the onion mixture and simmer for 2 minutes.
- 5. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme. Let the mixture cool.
- 6. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
- 7. Place the dough in a tart pan and brush the edges with water to help it stick.
- 8. Fill the tart with the cooled onion mixture.
- 9. Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes until the pastry edge is golden brown.
