Ingredients
- 250 cassava
- 150 plantains
- 50 olive oil
- 200 ground beef
- nach Geschmack salt
- nach Geschmack spices (oregano, cumin)
- 2 banana leaves
- 500 water
Instructions
- 1. Peel, boil, and mash the cassava and plantains.
- 2. In a pan, cook the ground beef with spices until well done.
- 3. For the dough, mix olive oil and salt into the pureed ingredients.
- 4. Lightly heat the banana leaves and cut into pieces to shape pasteles.
- 5. Place a portion of the dough onto a banana leaf, add some filling, and fold it up.
- 6. Steam the pasteles in a large pot of water for 30 minutes.
