🍞 Creamy Pain Perdu with Matcha Ice Cream

Ingredients
- 4 Scheiben wheat bread (thick slices)
- 3 Stück eggs (size M)
- 100 ml heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
- 150 ml whole milk
- 40 g sugar
- 1 Teelöffel vanilla extract
- 30 g butter (for frying)
- 1 Esslöffel matcha powder (high quality)
- 15 g sugar (for matcha ice cream)
- 2 Esslöffel water (cold)
Instructions
- 1. Whisk the eggs, cream, milk, sugar and vanilla extract in a shallow dish.
- 2. Dip the bread slices briefly in the mixture until saturated.
- 3. Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- 4. Fry the French toasts for 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- 5. Mix the matcha powder with the sugar and water into a paste.
- 6. Stir the paste into a small bowl of cold cream until smooth.
- 7. Place the French toast on the plate and add a dollop of matcha cream.
- 8. Spread the matcha cream slightly with a spoon.
