75 g mixed nuts (e.g. macadamia, almonds, walnuts)
75 g sunflower seeds
200 g fine oat flakes
100 g coarse oat flakes
100 g chopped almonds
50 g coconut flakes
100 g whole grain rice flakes
75 g sesame seeds
100 g whole cane sugar
50 g sugar beet syrup
150 g butter
150 g apple sauce (no added sugar)
75 g raisins
Instructions
1. Roughly chop the nuts. Combine them in a large mixing bowl with the sunflower seeds, oat flakes, almonds, coconut flakes, rice flakes, sesame seeds, and demerara sugar, and mix well.
2. Melt the beet syrup and butter in a saucepan over low heat for about 3 minutes. Stir the melted mixture and the apple sauce into the dry ingredients. Chop the raisins and fold them into the mixture as well.
3. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Spread the mixture evenly over it to a thickness of about 2 cm. Bake the bars in a preheated oven at 180 °C (convection 160 °C; gas mark 2–3) for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
4. Remove the tray from the oven. Cut the still-warm bars into small pieces and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Store the finished bars in a cool, dry, and dark place.
