🍞 Minimalist Torrijas with Honey

Ingredients
- 4 Scheiben Stale white bread
- 200 ml Whole milk
- 1 Stück Cinnamon stick
- 1 Stück Lemon
- 40 g Sugar
- 100 ml Water
- 30 ml Olive oil
Instructions
- 1. Fry the bread slices in a pan with a little olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
- 2. Remove the bread from the pan and place it in a baking dish.
- 3. Simmer the milk with the cinnamon stick, lemon zest, and sugar in a small pot gently.
- 4. Remove the cinnamon stick and zest, and pour the hot milk over the bread.
- 5. Let the bread soak up the milk completely for 10 minutes.
- 6. Boil water and sugar for 2 minutes to create a light syrup.
- 7. Pour the syrup over the soaked bread pieces and serve them warm.
