Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Finely chop 1 clove of garlic. Important: Don't chop it too small, or it will burn quickly at 200 °C.
  2. 2. Pat 200 g salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Never rinse it, as that washes away the flavour.
  3. 3. Put 2 tablespoons of butter into a small bowl and let it soften at room temperature for a short time.
  4. 4. Grate 1 teaspoon of lemon zest directly into the soft butter. Make sure to only use the coloured part of the peel.
  5. 5. Finely chop 2 teaspoons of dill and add it to the butter-lemon mixture. Fresh dill tastes more intense.
  6. 6. Add the finely chopped garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper.
  7. 7. Stir the mixture with a fork until it becomes a smooth paste. Don't let it become lumpy.
  8. 8. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C. This is important for the crispy crust at the end.
  9. 9. Place the 2 salmon fillets into the basket of the air fryer. Make sure they don't touch each other.
  10. 10. Spread the entire butter-dill mixture evenly over the top of the 2 salmon fillets. Cover them completely.
  11. 11. Cook the salmon at 200 °C for about 10 minutes, until the flesh is completely pink and firm.
  12. 12. Carefully flip the salmon fillets over once. This will make the underside nicely golden brown and crispy.
  13. 13. Cook the salmon for another 3 minutes at 200 °C. Test for doneness: A knife should slide easily through the flesh.
  14. 14. Carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer. The crust should now be golden brown and firm.
  15. 15. Let the salmon rest in the basket for 2 minutes. This allows the juices to distribute evenly throughout the flesh.
  16. 16. Serve the salmon on 2 plates. It's perfect when the crust cracks and the flesh remains juicy and pink.
