Ingredients
- 200g Fish fillets (e.g., sea bass)
- 1 EL Lemon juice
- 2 EL Olive oil
- 2 Zehen Garlic
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
- 1 TL Dried oregano
- 4 Lemon slices
Instructions
- 1. Chop the 2 cloves of garlic very finely. Important: Don't chop it too small, or it will burn quickly.
- 2. Pat the 200 g fish fillets dry with paper towels. Never rinse them, as this will make them mushy.
- 3. Mix the finely chopped garlic with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper in a small bowl.
- 4. Rub the fish fillets with the garlic mixture. Make sure each side is covered.
- 5. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of lemon juice evenly over the marinated fillets. This will tenderize the meat.
- 6. Let the fillets rest for 10 minutes at room temperature. This allows the flavor to penetrate the fish.
- 7. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. This is the medium setting, ideal for fish.
- 8. Place the fillets flat in the air fryer basket. Make sure they don't touch.
- 9. Spread the remaining marinade from the bowl over the fillets. Don't let anything go to waste.
- 10. Place the 4 lemon slices loosely on top of the fillets. They will smell fantastic while cooking.
- 11. Cook the fish at 180 °C for 10 minutes, until it is golden brown. The heat circulates evenly around the meat.
- 12. Carefully remove the slices and flip the fillets over. This will make them golden brown all around.
- 13. Cook the fillets for another 3-5 minutes. They are ready when the meat is white and flakes easily.
- 14. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of dried oregano over the top. This gives it a final Mediterranean touch.
- 15. Serve the fish immediately on plates. It's perfect when it easily separates with a fork.
