🍽️ Mediterranean Chickpea Falafel in the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 400g Chickpeas
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 20g Parsley
- 10g Coriander
- 1 Chili pepper
- 30g Flour
- 1 TL Baking powder
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Drain the can of chickpeas and rinse them under cold water.
- 2. Pat the chickpeas very dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Peel the onion and chop it into coarse pieces.
- 4. Peel the 2 garlic cloves and halve them.
- 5. Wash the 20g parsley and the 10g coriander and shake them dry.
- 6. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper and chop it into coarse pieces.
- 7. Puree the chickpeas, onion, garlic, herbs and chili in a food processor.
- 8. Add the 30g flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper.
- 9. Combine everything into a firm, sticky dough without large lumps.
- 10. Form 8 small, flat patties from the dough.
- 11. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 12. Spray the falafel and the air fryer basket inserts with oil.
- 13. Place the falafel in the basket and cook for 10 minutes at 180 °C, turning them halfway through until golden brown.
- 14. Remove the falafel and let them drain on kitchen paper for 2 minutes.
- 15. Serve the falafel with hummus and pita bread when they are golden brown and crispy.
