🥗 Marinated Iceberg Salad with Tomato Oil

Ingredients
- 1 Kopf Iceberg Lettuce
- 3 Stück Tomatoes (Firm)
- 2 Stück Shallots
- 60 ml Olive Oil (Extra Virgin)
- 2 EL White Wine Vinegar
- 1 TL Dried Thyme
- 1/2 TL Sea Salt
- 1 Prise Black Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Cut off the tips of the tomatoes and dice the flesh into fine cubes. Remove the seeds before cutting to eliminate seeds.
- 2. Peel the shallots and dice them into very fine cubes. Place the shallots in a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes to make them crisp.
- 3. Mix the olive oil with the white wine vinegar, dried thyme, salt, and pepper in a small pot. Heat the mixture gently until warm (do not boil).
- 4. Wash the iceberg lettuce, dry the leaves thoroughly, and cut them into wide strips.
- 5. Dry the shallots well. Place the lettuce, shallots, and tomato cubes in a large bowl. Pour the warm oil over the ingredients and toss the salad gently until it becomes glossy.
